Pink Stumps Day 2022

Puppies take a clean sweep in Master Blasters Series. Not knowing where the scorebook ended up but I do know that the Baby Barracudas fought hard when sent into bat and posted one of their biggest scores of the series and set a big total of 80 for the Pitbulls to chase. As it has happened all year Puppy Power rose to the occasion in front of a big crowd scoring 124 at the end of their innings and plundered everything in their path this season.
Z.Cale, S.Green, E.Williams, M.Hope, T.Sellings, R.Sellings, O.Burke, K.Whitty, K.Dibben, A.Farley receiving winning medallions for the Pitbull Puppies. Their are a few more left to the players that played in this age group which we will hand out on Friday afternoon.

The Terriers pack responded with big guns J.Valmadre(23no), D.Pettierford(18) both retiring,as did Player of the Series Z.Henry(34no) before they were sent back in. W.Logan(6) fell first at the hands of J.Rock when the score was 1-44. K.Porter(13) was next to fall by the hand of M.Gabey, as did L.Riley (5) and the game was evenly poised at 3-95 in the 16th. A.Valmadre fell cheaply for 1 but B.Hope getting a very solid 11 and M.Logan(17), B.Henshaw(9) posting PB’s in this competition, giving the locals a glimmer of hope. O.Dibben(3) tried opening up the shoulders and R.Davies(1) was runout, the Terriers were 8-130 in the 25th. 65runs and only 5overs left was to big to chase with the Pitbulls going down gallantly by 29runs. All players should be proud of their efforts, you are all superstars and it was a great game to watch.

Coach Milne released the leash on his most experienced Pitbulls in the dogfight. M.Pettierford(36) was wounded first, then skipper D.Milne joined an elite group and became the third member this season to get a diamond duck and Proserpine were 2-56 in the 6th. N.Wylie(32) and B.Valmadre(57) had bait on their bats and ran with it adding another 82 runs before N.Wylie went leg up in the 16th. B.Valmadre raised his willow but bales out when he lost his stumps in the 22nd with the score at 4-166. Valuable runs from C.Stroud(11) and J.Cremor(10) had the mighty Pitbulls within striking distance at 6-193, leaving J.Riley(3no) and J.Williams(1no) hitting the winning runs and restoring Pitbulls Pride. Another great game to watch. Well done boys.
