Smash Series Cricket Program -

Ages 8-10

Program Summary

Our Smash Series (previously Master Blasters) is a fun, fast-paced introduction to playing cricket, giving kids the chance to put their skills into action through short, modified games. With smaller teams and everyone getting the chance to bat, bowl and field, it’s the perfect next step for kids ready to move beyond Cricket Blast.

Ready for the next step? Our Smash Series Program (previously the Master Blasters program) is where the game really starts to come alive.

Designed for kids who are ready to be part of a team, this program blends fun, fast-paced cricket games with skill development in a supportive and social environment. Sessions run for 1.5 hours, giving players plenty of time to learn, play, and stay engaged.

Each week includes a modified game of cricket using a soft ball, so there’s no need for protective gear just yet. While players are waiting for their turn to bat, they stay active with skill-based activities, ensuring there’s no downtime and everyone is involved from start to finish.

The format is designed to build confidence:

  • Everyone gets a chance to bat, bowl, field and even keep
  • No one is “out” – instead, teams earn bonus points for wickets
  • The focus stays firmly on participation, enjoyment, and learning the game

We also offer optional opportunities to take things a step further, with inter-club games against Bowen’s U8 and U10s teams. With a mix of home and away matches, it’s a great way for kids to experience a bit of friendly competition and be part of something bigger.

All equipment is provided by the club, but players are always welcome to bring their own bat if they’d like.
